Spiced Potato Rösti

A thick potato cake of grated russets bound with egg and a little flour, seasoned with garlic, onion, paprika and chilli flakes. The MicroPro Grill browns the rösti in the microwave, and the Pro Ring keeps it in a neat round until it is set enough to flip.

Method

  1. Set up the Tupperware Grate Master and place a medium Tupperware Thatsa Bowl filled with water under the outlet. Grate the potatoes straight into the water.

  2. Drain the potatoes, wrap them in a clean towel or paper towels and squeeze out as much liquid as you can.

  3. Dry the bowl and whisk the egg with the salt, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika and pepper flakes. Add the potato and flour and mix with the silicone spatula until evenly combined.

  4. Set the Pro Ring in the base of the Tupperware MicroPro Grill and spread the mixture evenly inside it. Put the cover on in grill position and microwave at 70% power (700 W) for 8 minutes.

  5. Wearing oven gloves, lift off the Pro Ring and turn the rösti over with the spatula. Put the cover back on in the low grill position and microwave at 70% power (700 W) for 5 minutes more.
