Method

  1. Split the vanilla pod lengthwise and scrape out the seeds. In a small bowl, mix them with the softened butter and the sugar.

  2. Put the kernels, and nothing else, in the Tupperware WOW Popcorn Maker. Set the cover in the open position, with its vented side over the holes in the base.

  3. Microwave on high for up to 3 minutes, in an oven of no more than 1000 W. Stay close and stop as soon as there are about 2 seconds between pops; depending on your microwave this may take a little more or less than 3 minutes.

  4. With the cover still open, shake out the unpopped kernels. Add the vanilla butter straight away, turn the cover to the closed position and shake gently for about 30 seconds, until the butter has melted.

  5. If some butter is still solid, microwave for 10 to 20 seconds at 50% power (about 500 W) and shake again. For extra crunch, microwave for 5 to 10 seconds more, then shake once more for about 10 seconds with the cover closed.
