Spiced Honey Cakes

Small round cakes made with oil, honey, cinnamon and ginger, brushed with warm honey after baking and decorated with sugar paste bees. The whole batter is mixed in one jug, and the Mini Football Mould gives six identical rounds ready to decorate.

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F), conventional setting. Whisk all the cake ingredients together in a 1.25 l measuring jug with a flat whisk.

  2. Share the batter between the cavities of the Tupperware Mini Football Mould set on the cold oven rack and bake on a low shelf for about 25 minutes.

  3. As soon as they come out of the oven, cover the cakes with a clean tea towel and leave them for about 10 minutes before turning them out.

  4. Warm the runny honey in the MicroCook Pitcher 1 l for about 20 seconds at 600 W. Brush it over the cakes with a silicone brush and leave them to cool.

  5. Shape small bees from the coloured sugar paste and set one on each cake.
