Smoky Carrot Dogs

A vegetarian hot dog in which whole carrots take the place of sausages, soaked in a smoky soy and maple marinade before steaming. The Season-Serve container marinates them evenly, and the Smart Multi-Cooker steams all eight at once on two levels.

Method

  1. Put the liquid smoke, soy sauce, maple syrup, onion powder and garlic powder in a Tupperware Quick Shake container or All-in-One Shaker, close and shake hard to blend.

  2. Lay the carrots in a Season-Serve container or another deep container, pour the marinade over, seal and leave for 2 hours, or overnight in the fridge.

  3. Pour the water into the base of the Tupperware Smart Multi-Cooker. Set the shielded colander on the base with 4 carrots, then add the low colander with the other 4. Discard the leftover marinade.

  4. Cover and microwave at full power (1000 W) for 12 to 14 minutes, until the carrots are soft. Serve hot in the buns with your favourite toppings.
