Deep-Dish Apple Crumble Pie

A deep dish of cinnamon-sugar Granny Smith apples under a thick, crumbly brown sugar topping, with no pastry to roll. The Ultra Pro casserole goes from microwave to oven: the apples soften in the microwave first, so the dish needs only a short bake to crisp the top.

In brief Deep-Dish Apple Crumble Pie is a desserts recipe cooked in the Tupperware Ultra Pro. It takes 55 minutes in total and serves 8 servings.

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 350 °F (175 °C).

  2. Cut the apples into 1/2 in (1.25 cm) pieces. Mix them in the Tupperware Ultra Pro 2 l casserole with the butter, flour, cinnamon, sugar and salt, then microwave uncovered for 8 minutes at full power (1000 W).

  3. Meanwhile, stir the topping flour, both sugars, salt and cinnamon in a Tupperware Thatsa Bowl. Work in the butter with a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture forms coarse crumbs.

  4. Scatter the crumbs evenly over the hot apples and bake for 12 minutes, until the topping is golden and the filling bubbles at the edges.

  5. Let stand for 10 minutes and serve warm or at room temperature.
