Chocolate Footballs

Hollow chocolate balls with the classic black-and-white football pattern, made from two moulded half-shells and filled with sweets if you like. The textured cavities of the Mini Football Mould hold the dark chocolate patches in place, so the white chocolate layer picks up the design.

Ingredients

3pieces

Method

  1. Melt the dark chocolate in pieces in the Tupperware MicroCook Pitcher 1 l for about 1 1/2 minutes at 360 W. Leave to stand for 1 minute with the lid on, stir with a thin silicone spatula and leave for about 5 minutes.

  2. Fill the textured patches of the Tupperware Mini Football Mould with the dark chocolate using the thin spatula. Chill for 20 minutes, or freeze for 10.

  3. Take the mould out and leave it at room temperature while you melt the white chocolate in pieces for about 1 minute 50 seconds at 360 W. Leave for 1 minute with the lid on, stir, then leave uncovered for 5 minutes.

  4. Pour about 25 ml (1 1/2 tbsp) white chocolate into the first cavity and brush it over the whole surface with a silicone brush. Repeat with the other cavities, then chill for 25 minutes.

  5. Turn out the half-shells carefully, pressing on the back of each cavity with two or three fingers to spread the pressure.

  6. Warm a frying pan over low heat until it is just warm to the touch. Hold the rims of two half-shells against it for 1 to 2 seconds to melt the edges.

  7. Fill the shells if you like, then join them, lining up the patterns. Chill for about 15 minutes before serving.
