Baked Apple Confit

A dessert made of nothing but apples, sugar, butter and cinnamon, cooked down until the slices hold together as a loaf that can be turned out and cut. The Ultra Pro loaf pan goes into the microwave to soften the fruit quickly, then into the oven, lid on, for a long gentle bake.

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 170 °C (340 °F), fan setting. Put 10 g (2 tsp) of the butter in the Tupperware Ultra Pro loaf pan 1.8 l, close it and microwave for 2 minutes at 360 W. Spread the melted butter over the inside with the silicone brush.

  2. Peel the apples with the vertical peeler and cut them into thick slices with the slicer set over the Mixing Bowl 3 l.

  3. Add the sugar and cinnamon. Close the bowl with its collar lid and flexible seal, then shake it, holding the lid and bowl firmly together, until the slices are coated.

  4. Tip the apples into the Ultra Pro, close it and microwave for 15 minutes at 600 W.

  5. Press the apples down gently with the silicone spatula, dot with the remaining butter in small cubes, close and bake for 45 minutes.

  6. Leave to cool, then turn out onto a serving plate. Serve with custard or vanilla ice cream.
