Homemade Bacon Butter

Butter made from scratch by churning cream until it separates, then seasoned with crisp bacon and a pinch of salt. The Whip N Mix Chef does the churning with its hand-turned gears: first gear whips the cream, second gear splits it into butter and buttermilk.

Method

  1. Pour the cream into the base of the Tupperware Whip N Mix Chef. Turn the handle in gear 1 until the cream looks grainy and you feel some resistance.

  2. Switch to gear 2 and keep turning until the butter clumps around the whisks and a lot of thin white liquid gathers in the base.

  3. Pour off the buttermilk and keep it for baking or pancakes. Wearing food-safe gloves, gather the butter from the base and press it into a ball.

  4. Hold the butter under cold running water and knead it gently to squeeze out the remaining buttermilk, until the water runs clear.

  5. Put the butter in a small bowl and work in the bacon and salt. Spread it on toast, or keep it in the fridge until needed.
